Savoy Building

San Antonio

Originally three separate structures, the Little Soledad, Soledad Block and University Block buildings were combined in 1912 to create the elegant Hotel Savoy.  Once a thriving establishment, the hotel was long gone and the building in a state of deterioration when Weston Urban stepped in to restore it to its turn-of-the-century beauty.  As part of the renovation, the limestone façade and the interior exposed brick were cleaned and preserved by a master mason. Ground floor spaces were redeveloped for retail tenants, and the top two levels were remodeled for the technology investment firm, Scaleworks.  The Savoy now combines early 20th-century style with modern technology.
