Rackspace, the world’s leading specialist in the hosting and cloud computing industry, repurposed a once-abandoned 765,000-SF shopping center to use as its primary headquarters in San Antonio, TX. Retail stores and food courts were transformed into offices, conference rooms, and open-floor customer service call centers. Fun art, bright colors, ping-pong tables and a two-story winding slide add to the upbeat, funky vibe. Employee amenities include bistro coffee bars and an on-site restaurant. This unique building was certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council and received the South TX ABC 2010 Excellence in Construction award. Following completion of this facility, Pritchard Associates also managed the build-out at Rackspace’s Austin and Mexico City offices.
