Highland Park ISD
With a multi-million-dollar bond package passed in 2008, the Highland Park Independent School District embarked on a district-wide upgrade to its school campuses. Kitchens and auditoriums were renovated; classrooms added; and safety, security, facility lifecycle and technology were modernized. New playgrounds were installed at each of the four elementary schools; the middle and high schools received both new and rehabilitated tennis courts and outdoor fields. Thanks to substantial savings realized during renovations, HPISD was able to also construct a new high school indoor practice facility. This multi-use facility, the largest in Texas, was used in 2011 by the Green Bay Packers for Super Bowl XLV.
